Holidays to Tenerife – Ideal for winter sun!

Tenerife holidays have been a firm favourite amongst British holiday makers for many years. Holidays to Tenerife really do have something to offer everyone from couples and families to the 18 to 30′s crowd.

The most popular Tenerife holidays are in the more commercial, southern part of the island.  There’s a great selection of accomodation available whether you’re looking for a self catering holiday or all inclusive holiday, many holiday makers enjoy cheap holidays in Tenerife.

The largest holiday resort in Tenerife is the ever popular Playa de las Americas,  number one choice for the younger crowd aswell as families looking for a lively resort with lots to do.  Los Cristianos, which was originally a small fishing village, has been transformed into a well known holiday resort (but is still much quieter than it’s noisy neighbour!), whilst the purpose built resort of Costa Adeje is a superb choice for a cheap Tenerife holiday.

Whatever you’re looking for Tenerife holidays offer a great variety of holiday resorts catering to all tastes and budgets.  If you’re travelling with kids there’s plenty to keep them entertained from waterparks and go-karting to the fantastic Loro Parque with it’s parrot park, exotic Thai village and Planet Penguin! Another major attraction is dolphin and whale spotting, a must whilst on holiday in Tenerife. There’s also a plenty of watersports on offer from windsurfing to scuba diving.

Tenerife holidays offer a fantastic nightlife. Playa de las Americas is by far the liveliest resort whilst on holiday in Tenerife.  The resort offers a huge choice of bars and nightclubs mainly centered around the Veronicas, the Patch and the Starco commercial centre.  There are plenty of bars offering family entertainment from live music to karaoke and nighclubs ideal for partying the night away open til the very early hours!

Holidays in Tenerife in the resorts of Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje have a more laid back atmosphere than that of Playa de las Americas but still have a great variety of bars and restaurants to choose from and are a popular choice for a cheap family holiday!

Prague City Breaks

The capital of the Czech Republic, Prague is one of the most beautiful European cities. The city itself is bursting with culture from museums & art galleries to the famous Prague Castle.

Having survived World War II with very little damage, the cobbled streets and bohemian buildings are still a major highlight in the Medieval part of the Prague.

Meanwhile the commercial centre of the city is filled with restaurants, art galleries, museums and boutique shops offering local handicrafts.

Whilst in Prague a visit to the world famous castle is a must. The castle is the main tourist attraction in the city. Having survived several wars, fires, renovations and occupants, the castle and grounds are home to an interesting mix of palaces and churches. Today the castle is both the historical and political centre for the city and the Czech Republic. Don’t miss the changing of the guards every hour at the castle gates.

Joining the Mala Strana side of the city and the Old Town is The Charles Bridge. Originally constructed in 1357, Baroque statues adorn the length of the bridge. Another must see when in Prague, the bridge is also very popular with artists, musicians and street vendors who line both sides of the bridge with stalls filled with local trinkets and art.

In the run up to Christmas, if it’s traditional Christmas markets you would like to explore, Prague offers some of the best markets in Europe.

The main markets in the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square are open daily from 9am to 7pm throughout the festive period, whilst there are also smaller markets dotted around the city.

The Christmas markets consist of hundreds of wooden stalls laden with traditional Christmas gifts, local handicrafts and hot food including local specialties and mulled wine. With winters in the Czech Republic being especially chilly and the likelihood of snow all add to the wonderful atmosphere and festive spirit.

There’s an abundance of hotels in Prague to choose from, one of our favourites is the 4* Grand Majestic Plaza in Prague, located in the heart of the historical centre close to Republic Square and rated 4 out of 5 on Trip Advisor. This fantastic 4 star hotel offers modern accomodation, a grand lounge with a cafe and cocktail bar and a breakfast restaurant. Many of the major attractions that Prague has to offer are within walking distance of the hotel including Charles Bridge, Prague Castle and from the 24th November, one of the best Christmas Markets in Europe.

With such a short flying time from the UK and  low cost airlines offering daily flights from various UK airports, city breaks to the Grand Majestic Hotel in Prague start from as little as £159 per person.

For more information or to book your Prague city breaks visit Bluesea Holidays.

Sharm El Sheikh Holidays

All Inclusive Holidays to Egypt

It’s hard to believe that just 15 years ago Sharm El Sheikh was a small fishing village untouched by tourism. However today the resort is the most popular on the Red Sea coast. With an abundance of 4 and 5 star hotels on offer, low cost airlines such as Easyjet flying there daily, not to mention all year round sunshine, it’s hardly suprising that the number of British tourists visiting the resort is ever increasing.

Perhaps the most well known and commercialised area in Sharm is Naama Bay. Home to Pacha and the Ministry of Sound nightclubs aswell as several casinos open until the early hours. Naama Bay comes alive at night and amongst many brightly lit bars, clubs and souvenir shops, traditional Bedouin style cafes and shops selling local handicrafts and exotic spices offer a taste of traditional Egypt.

Nabq Bay, about 12km from the sirport is also a pretty busy area complete with bars, restaurants, shops and TGI Fridays. Ras Um Sid is particularly good for those who enjoy snorkelling and diving being close to the Ras Mohammed Marine Park and dive sites such as Shark Reef and the Yolanda Reef.  The diving in Sharm El Sheikh is amongst the best in the world , with caves and famous wrecks including the Thistlegorm. Sharks Bay is the newst area, located close to the airport and now has some fantastic hotels.

Sharm El Sheikh holidays, offer great value for money, so whether it’s 1 or 2 weeks relaxing in the sun, some of the worlds best diving or combining sun, sea and sand with a trip to Cairo. Sharm El Sheikh is a great place for couples and families offering year round sunshine.
